Ulysse Nardin Launches Black Toro Perpetual Calendar

Luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin presents the Black Toro Perpetual Calendar. The Black Toro is the latest version of the Swiss manufacturer's perpetual calendar, originally launched in 1996 as the Perpetual Ludwig.

When master watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin originally created this watch for Ulysse Nardin, it became one of the most powerful perpetual calendars on the market. Perpetual Ludwig allows all calendar displays to be adjusted back and forth on one crown, avoiding returning the watch to the manufacturer in the event of a wrong setting. Unlike the standard lever system, this timepiece showcases the first perpetual calendar mechanism driven by wheels and gears.

Black Toro is equipped with the same Calibre UN-32 Manufacture self-winding movement, and the perpetual calendar function can be adjusted on a single crown. The 43mm case in 18K rose gold features a ceramic bezel with a black dial, a second time zone with a patented quick-setting mechanism and a third hand to indicate the permanent home time. The double window also has a big date. The Black Toro has a 48-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 100m.

The new Black Toro Perpetual Calendar is available with a rubber strap with a titanium/ceramic deployment clasp or a leather strap with a folding clasp.
